Chimney Cleaning in Park Ridge, IL
A chimney sweep removes the soot and creosote that build up inside your flue every time you burn wood. We clean the flue, the firebox and the damper area so your fireplace draws well and burns safely.
When to book chimney cleaning
- You have not had the chimney cleaned in over a year
- A smoky smell comes from the fireplace, even when it is not in use
- Black, shiny or tar-like deposits are visible in the flue
- Fires burn poorly or smoke spills into the room
What is at stake
Creosote is a flammable by-product of burning wood. When it builds up inside the flue it can ignite, and a chimney fire can damage the masonry and spread to the house. Fire safety standards such as NFPA 211 call for chimneys to be inspected every year and cleaned when needed.
